It doesn't feel like my birthday... Well that's cuz it's not, yet. But I was thinking of celebrating it today, because we'd have more time, but it's the zone activity today, we're playing ultimate frisbee and having a BBQ. I still have my jdawgs sauce, I'll bring it so i can let others use it, I'm not using it.
We have been having fun, it's hard to keep track of all that goes on throughout the week, but I can start with yesterday cuz it's fresh. So we went knocking after church, we normally don't, because knocking doesn't do much. But elder Izatt is looking for Asians. We see them walking around, and so we try to chase them down, but we never have found their nest. Because once you find one, you'll find them all- they like to live close together.
Elder Izatt was serving in flushing for over a year. That's where the majority of Asians are. And he knows enough Chinese to talk about what missionaries do. And he still knows a little creole to do the same. And there is a large amount of Haitians close by. So now we know where the rich white people live, we know where the Spanish live, and the Haitians, now we gotta find the Asians.
I told the sisters in the district that I like German chocolate cake. It wasn't an invitation to make it, but they're awesome and will anyway.
Today should be a nice day for outdoor sports, it says it'll be 64 today. That's the highest in a long time. It was rainy lately.
I've been sick, too. The cold or something. Coughing like I'm gonna die, sneezing and sore throat, runny nose, the like. In the morning it's bad, but during the day and later, it's not so bad. Just when I wake up.
Something I think is funny, when we go around and ask if we can give people a Mormon.org card, some say "I'm not Mormon" and I think "well duh, I wouldn't give a Mormon this card". Or something relative to that. But of course I don't say it.
Some people...
We walk through the town and go to a park to find people. We talked to a guy who reminds me of lieutenant dan from forest gump, because he looked and sounded like him, but he acted more like forest, because his mind was frazzled. "His Brain is gone!" But he was talking about the war, and that he's going back, and he was scared of the Mormons, and talked about a room that no one is allowed in in the temples... How does he know about that?? And that he's been shot at too many times.
We met one Haitian dude, Mike. And we've been teaching him a few times so far. About three times last week. And he understands well, now he just needs to get time off work to go to church. He works at a horrible Mexican food restaurant called cilantro. We went there once, it was bad. But he works 10-10 or sometimes until 4 in the morning, if there's a show going on down the street. Whoopi Goldberg is coming to town soon, and when the show gets out, there will be hungry people, and they only need to walk a few yards to get some food. And they
might be drunk, so who cares if the food is bad?
So, kinda funny that once I get the new cd, elder Izatt comes in and he already has it! But it's okay. I still have a long time, I'll be with someone who might not have it, so it's good anyway. Oh, I do leave in December. I hope so at least. My year mark was last December, so I can make a safe guess my two year mark is this
December.
We were at some members house the other day and we got talking about geocaching and I was like, hey I do that! Or used to. And I had to explain it to Izatt, because it's not a well known thing. Then last night we look up this family and the dad is HUGE into it. He even has his own cache across the street from his house. So this morning I looked some up online and I saw one that was easy and I knew where the location is. So we checked it out, it was in a magnetic key box on a guard rail. Elder Izatt liked it. Hopefully he can "catch the bug".
Haha but I want to find more now that I've been reminded of it. But there is a flash mob they are holding at the park we go to, in June... I hope I'm here for it. But it's called "where's Waldo" and all who go are asked to dress in red and white striped shirt/beanie and slowly walk to a specified point in the park. It sounds fun and cool, and even if I'm not going to participate, I'd love to be there and see it.
We just went to a froyo place and one of the sisters was asking to buy my stuff for me, for my birthday, but I'm like, it's not my birthday, you can't buy me anything. So I was thinking of celebrating it today, so we have time, but we have no money, so we'll go to dinner or lunch on Wednesday. And there was supposed to be a zone activity, but never mind I guess. The ZLs moved it to next week for some reason. So now I don't know what's going on today. I can still do stuff, but what?.....
So we're just chillin today I think. I've always wanted to do absolutely nothing on a pday. Like no sports, no nothing. Maybe sleep all day. But like always... Sports have to be done. Eh, I can sleep in the foyer.
Anyway... I was really hoping to play ultimate today. But I'll settle for naught.
I want to drink horchata, but I don't want to make it. Wednesday we are going to the Mansuetto's to clean up their yard, and she's gonna make us an "IHOP" breakfast. Last time we had bagels and this really good egg salad.
The last three weeks I've been poor, so we've relied on members, and the little oatmeal I have left over from last month.. But I've lost some weight, and also gained it cuz the food I get fed is a lot. Last night we had eggplant and sweet potatoes and spaghetti squash of which Izatt or the member have heard of before. The members are doing a gluten free diet, and it's not bad, because all you need to eat is veggies and it's not hard.
Elder Izatt is trying to make me super obedient and it's hard. So I'll have to remember to only email on Mondays. And other things. I can't think anymore, too many People here and I'm tired.
See ya in two weeks.
