So... We ate at John and Amy's place last week and we had an early
turkey day. She made us some awesome cheesecake. It was thick. Then
the next day we went cer cuz she forgot to make Mac n cheese. So we
had that too, it was thick and creamy. I didn't really love it. But it
was food.
Then we went to gabe's place and had a sweet restoration lesson. I
even shed a tear when I was telling the story of Joseph smith. I had
to pass the rest to elder bey. We were on exchanges that day. And even
he was teary eyed. It was nice. Then when we were done we asked gabe
what he thought, and he was speechless. Said it "hit home" he usually
has lots of questions, but not then.
Then he said that he will most likely become a Mormon. he hates us
for that because he was trying hard not to be taught. But he actually
likes and agrees with our beliefs. And he loves the way we teach. It's
more sharing than preaching. And that he knows we are friends and care
about him. So he's more open and nice about it.
He's cool. I like him. He's pretty much our main focus with his
family. His wife is good. She reads and prays. And has been to church.
But we need him to understand who he is and who God is. And Gods plan
for him. His purpose here. Last time we talked to him he asked if god
was a platypus. Or some alien thing with a name we can't pronounce.
But that's cuz he's had atheist and agnostic backgrounds.
And it's good cuz we are having him pray in the lessons and he's
praying to God, so hopefully that's a good reason to believe in Him.
尺㚒犬🈷A口 there's some Chinese stuff. You can do a lot on these things.
We haven't talked to hardy yet. He was gone this last sunday. But he's
doing well. Hopefully we can dunk him soon.
So far I kinda hate these ipads. We're doing less. But looking up less
actives isn't a good idea either. We need to find things to do other
than wander around.
I can't think of much else. I was waiting for elder peck's email as
well. So I didn't email yesterday.
Ok bye.

so, this library closes at 5. i hate holidays like these on mondays
on the mission. but this library is awesome. WE GET OUR iPADS TOMORROW!!!!! i'm excited.
so i went out and spent some money, kinda a lot, but i saved about $100
cuz we shop at marshalls. so i got new tennis shoes ($45) and some
sweats ($15) and a sweet jacket ($25) and we went running this morning
to the other elder's pad, but i forgot the phone so we just walked back.
i hurt all over. but it was "my body saying this hurts, and my mind
saying get used to it" according to elder Hunter. oh mum- he's not
slacking at all, on the contrary, he's going to work hard until the
second he dies. i think he was sent here to baptize and help me work
out. because he said that in one of his last areas he baptized so many
people the ward split! oh, i guess my half way temple trip is coming up. idk when though cuz my year mark is in two transfers.
so right now we have 5 investigators: amy+john, victoria+gabe, and
hardy. we met with hardy last night and it was a good lesson on the word
of wisdom, he pretty much already lives like that, not drinking alcohol
or tea (he's chinese and doesn't drink tea?) and he'll occasionally
drink coffee. but he also eats well, like not a lot of meat and he'll
throw in some veggies and fruits in his diet. so we pretty much said
there's a name for what you're doing. and then we committed him to dec.1 for a bap date! right now he works on sunday, and can only meet with us in the afternoon. but he applied for a new position where he can have all sunday off to come to church and "keep the sabbath day holy" which was our last lesson.
amy and john are smokers and we're trying to get the 12
step program for them to quit. and i guess we'll teach them some gospel
as well? i mean amy has been taught everything already. and maybe so
has john. idk..
and tori and gabe are doing very well. we met with them a
few days back and i introduced hunter to them and we hung out and talked
about video games and i even played a little bit of the new walking
dead game. it was kinda slow and boring. a lot of decision making in a
short time. it follows the show as well. like i met that hershel guy on
the farm. and gabe said later in the game you meet the asian guy...
glen? but i only played for like 10 minutes. don't worry, i'm not
going to get in trouble or whatever, i repented of it as well so i don't
feel bad (cuz that's the only punishment we get is feeling guilty)
but they are reading and praying and we are almost done with the lessons.
oh, i forgot to say what happened in the lesson with hardy, so we asked
him to give the closing prayer and he said something like this: "i'm
thankful for meeting with the elders today even though the weather is
cold, the elders words are like a warm wind that comforts my heart."
¡¡¡¡¡¡THAT'S SO DANG COOL!!!!!! oh man, his
prayers are getting better and we gave him a chinese book of mormon so
he can read it faster and understand it. he said that we could read it
all in a week now. rather than a month in english. hehe
ok, so it's hard to find people to teach on facebook.
most of my friends are members and the investigators are not on. oh
hehe galloni is on the computer that i've been on with the stupid
keyboard. i like this one. it's not a laptop feel, small flat keys.
back to FB. so even if we can get on at any time of day,
it still might be hard to find them people. i'll try. that's all i
can do, try my best.
so anyway... i think that's it for the general email.

ok, so after elder law left, no
one in the ward can play the organ or piano, so now it's super ghetto,
bishop plugs his iphone into the speakers and we sign along to the
orchestrated version of the hymns. and it's all tinny and corny. bishop
is kind of embarrassed by it. but if we sign loud enough, it's not too
bad. hehe
anyways, elder hunter is pretty cool, really hard worker.
but because he's been in the city for 22 months, that's all he can
think of. like how to do work there, it doesn't really work out on the
island, but he still wants to try it. and also, he thinks we need more
mileage in our month, now the limit is like 1200 miles, but he things
that 200 more would do it. but i've gone my whole mission with that
limit and we've been ok. but i think he thinks we can go see everyone
in one day. and he says that we should average 50 miles a day, but
yesterday we got 112. ya. we drove a hundred miles. and he wants it to
be like that. BUT FLIP!! i'm doing the driving. and now we don't have a
GPS, but we'll get one tomorrow. but anywho....the other elders have a baptism this saturday, and another one planned for december. we taught hardy yesterday, and he's doing well. but i forgot to commit him to baptism on the 16, but he has to move his schedule around so he can come to church and not work on sundees. we taught him the importance of the sabbath day, so hopefully he can do that soon. so we can dunk him! the commandments are kinda hard to teach cuz they don't really have a set thing in the PMG, it's just what we should and shouldn't do, then they leave it up to you to tell them what you know. so it's okay..
