I saw a pic of Cole his mom sent me, him and Blake at the temple. Crazy two years is up again already. Did I tell you that I had to cover the sisters? They went shopping for the first time and got a ton of stuff, and had $60 bucks left that they didn't have so I covered for them from my home card. I should get that back soon. I'm glad I could help.

I miss your cookies. I had waffles yesterday. They were blue. Cuz you wouldn't dye my food for me, so I had this girl do it. She's nice. It's cool how many nice people there are in NY. I'll try to get my pics to work. My camera is being stupid. I'll plug it in any computer and it shows up blank. And my thumb drive. I have no idea what's wrong. I'll try to find a card reader. That might do something. But for now... sorry. no pictures :(

Oh and Sis Blosil is cute but I can't think about that much. hehe. She'll be going home the same time I do. .. unless something comes up.. oh my last comp, Crabtree, he tore something in his leg, so he went home early. bummer.

Some things I'm glad for is that last transfer was unlikable, and I'm glad it was 5 weeks. This one so far is likable and is 6! so that's good. Campbell thinks I might kill him. That'd be nice.. But idk if I'll be here for 4 transfers. Anything's possible. One of my friends has been in the same area his whole mission, 6 transfers! Crazy... he mustn't be doing something right. haha.. But I've already been here 1 and a , well not even 7 weeks. This first week was a total of 6 weeks. But it's possible I could be here one more, like I was in Bay Shore for 3. but 4, that's 6 months! That's how long the Spanish sisters have been here. aw welll........ I gotta massive pimple on the back of my neck and it hurts.

_elder Peck ny loves you!
ps my comp plays the ukulele and he's great at it. you can tell Hannah, didn't she get a uke for Christmas? He can play a lot of cool songs. We have a little band goin in our district. Hehe :)

Oh man I miss those cookies. We went to a less active's yesterday and she made cinnamon pumpkin pancakes and dyed them blue! It was awesome. She's cool. Also, I love how we get fed every day here, I haven't eaten that much at home in a few weeks! maybe some oatmeal or somethin. some elder had some clifbars and I tried one, now I love them! hehe.

I can't really find anything wrong with this comp yet. he's super funny. reminds me a LOT of Ty! the way he does things and the way he talks sometimes. it's just like Ty. cool beans. we even played Settlers of Catan last night. it's pretty fun. not as hard as I thought it would be. So now Ty and I can play in few years.. and he's from Provo, as well. So now me, Izatt and Campbell have all been comps and we're all from Utah. The triangle is complete! now me and Izatt need to be comps again!
We have fun. This will be a great transfer. I'm glad it's a full 6 weeks!

February 19, 2013

cool. sorry i couldnt email yesterday, being a holiday.
but i'm still here.
ya i knew ethan, know. he's cool. cole hunter married his sister. so that's cool.
today is transfer meeting, so i don't have to worry about him for much longer. haha.......
the weather has been fine, still a little cold, but not freezing. to me. the others in the district don't like the cold.

idk if i need anything just yet. i was wondering what my debit card account is, but i think it's still a little over 100.
i might use that today cuz my lds card is running out. actually we got new ones, with bank of america. we had the jp morgan chase cards before.. idk why we changed.
oh man, theres gonna be SOOO many people there today. with the new missionaries. and i heard that next transfer every single sister currently in the mission is going to train. there will be about 13 new sisters. and even the ones who were here 6 weeks has to train... that's so many girls!
wow, tony it's crazy how fast a year goes by. i'm waiting for brians' in april.
i'll write youall a big letter in a bit. - love ya

so sunday, pres anderson. the branch pres asked the elders quorum who wants to go to the temple in the morning, and no one raised their hands. then i did and said, if you talk to president, i wanna go. kinda jokingly but i still wanted to go. then amazingly pres calderwood comes to our sacrament meeting. so jean baptiste asks him if we can go, and he said yes. so well we'd go with a recent convert. so that night we find out that the RC isn't going. i was sad. but then in the morning. we went anyway!! so that was my first time in the subway, in manhattan, we went to central park, cuz it's like just behind the temple. we did baptisms. so i got to do some confirming the HG to a bunch of people, which was awesome. then i got to baptize some people, which was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I actually confirmed and baptized the same people. that was cool.. oh man it was amazing. but the temple is pretty small. like the baptistry is on the main level. pretty small place. only three changing stalls. then we went upstairs to to chapel, like a real ward building up there. it's so cool.
funny thing though, once we come out of the subway into the city, the first thing i see is an aston martin right in front of me. and i was happy about that. i didn't even notice the temple was right there, behind it. i didn't know the subway stairs lead right to it. like it's just right there!
and the park. oh man that place is HUGE! we played around on some rocks, and went on some swings and stuff. i got a pic of the map, we were in a very small place, compared to the rest. maybe like 1%. and even that area was big. have you seen limitless? we walked by those rocks that that girl hides by. it was cool. i wondered how many movies are filmed in that park. i'll look it up in a bit.
i'll send some pics soon.
oh , and on the way back, there was two guys in the car we were in singing and stuff, one guy had an electric guitar with a belt amp i guess. it was cool. so after the first song. the guy started playing Book of Mormon Stories! ya! it was so cool! they were standing like two feet away from us. so they saw who we were. it was funny.. the other guy didn't sing it. just the tune.. when he first started i'm like... i've heard this.. then he kept going and i started laughing. 3 out of the 4 of us were laughing. sister pagan didn't get it. and the guy was like " didn't you go to primary?!" ahaha. then ellsworth asked if he was mormon and he said "thankfully not anymore" aw bummer. it was still cool though.

super fun pday. then to end it i had that crazy liquid poop. haha... oh it was bad.
i guess that's it. i'll let you know who my new comp is eventually. i think it's gonna be elder Izatt's trainer.. he's the only creole elder left.
love ya guys.

February 20
So I got Elder Campbell! just like I thought. and so far he's awesome. This is gonna be a great transfer!

They told us about the storm, and I didn't even remember it until the Zls told us to fill up, then we waited in line for like 5 minutes, which was great. and then went to sleep. In the morning I woke up to about a foot of snow. As far as I know, the power is fine, just a lot of snow. More than I've seen all at once in a while! And when they cleaned out the parking lots with the big tractors, there was like a 20 foot pile of it in the corner. But we're totally fine. And it's not too bad. It's really powdery. not wet, or fun either. like there was no way to make snow balls it was that dry.

I didn't know it was that big of a storm until I read your guy's emails. haha We didn't get hit that hard. like a foot or less. the roads were cleared fast, and everyone just cleaned out their drive ways and cars, oh there was like a crazy amount on our car, like from the wind blowing it. and I heard that eastern LI got 5 feet of "drifting" snow. idk what that is, but it sounds like a lot.

I heard the name "Nemo" on the radio, but didn't know what they were talking about. I just thought of this sporting store in Oceanside named Nemo. haha...
So it's not too bad here.  It sounds like we got the very end of the storm. like we didn't get a lot, but we got some. Same with the hurricane, like where I was wasn't hit hard, but it was the outer reaches of the circle, if that's the shape of storms. Oh well. it's raining now, so hopefully it goes away. the best thing about snow is that it melts

I got the card, it's nice. I bought the huge thing of Nutella with the money. thanks. Amazingly it's not all gone yet. even though it's half gone and it's been open about 5 days now. I put it on cookies, and bananas, and of course just eat it plain. haha

We went to a hospital yesterday to check up on some lady who should be dead. but I think I told you about her. Anyway, I wish I could go around telling people about the Plan of Salvation cuz when we got off the elevator, there was a young couple on the chairs in front of us with the lady crying. And I wanted to tell them a little about life after death, yes there is life, and you will see whoever is dying in that room.

It's sad. You only go to hospitals to die. One room we walked by had a ton of people in there and a cop standing outside. so I wonder what went on there... the lady we went to see was in the oncology section, idk what that is, but she was laying there with her mouth open and it looked like she was trying to breathe deeply but just couldn't. It was sad. So we left. We went because her sister told us to go see her. The old lady, Pulmattie, she's Indian, and it's scary to look at her, cuz her eyes are yellow. like they're not supposed to be that color!

Anyway, I'm at the library computer, and I am timed, and even though there's no one waiting, I wanna go look for a book. Last transfer I found a hand massage book. and that would be useful to me I think, especially when we're in a lesson and idk what to do with my hands, I could work out some stress in another section of my body. That's what's cool about the hands, is that they're connected to the rest of me.

So thanks for everything. see ya next week.

I drew a little picture the other day, like a scale with one side was weighing down a lot, and in that tray it said glad. and in the other one, the lighter one, it said sad. and I wrote that there are a few reasons I'm sad, but tons more reasons I'm glad.

The worst thing though, is that I was sitting next to our investigator at church, and her little son, Micheal, had some shades, so I showed him mine, and he grabbed both the ends and pulled them as far as he could until one snapped off! that little bugger! so now my shades are busted, and I tried fixing them, but it's not the same. they don't fit. Little kids, oh man they'll be the death of me.. ahha and later that day we went to their house to teach, and the kids, one girl, and one boy, close in ages, like 2 and 4 I think. The girl's name is Hermalie. but it sounds like Emily for some reason... and they were attacking me, like just crazy stuff. I was trying to be nice for the kids, while JB taught, cuz it's in Creole. but they were just super crazy!

I wrote a letter to Emily's parents today, saying how much I loved cleaning up after the storm, and meeting new people. I hope they like it. I was mainly asking about Emily, like her address and stuff. I'm glad I got her home address when she wrote me when I left to the MTC.

It snowed again yesterday, but it's pretty much all gone again. oh funny thing. The other day we were doing studies, and all of a sudden there was a weird banging noise coming from above us, and I said that's upstairs, and JB said there is no upstairs. So then we figured that the owners were replacing their shingles, and didn't tell us. It was the weirdest noise I've ever heard. Then after a while they brought out some loud machine that I bet cut off the pieces they couldn't get themselves.

Oh, we got a new car, it's a Subaru Impreza. I like it a lot. It's fast off the line, and has a bigger gas tank. and leg room! but I'm driving so that's limited...

So we have two more weeks of this transfer, including this week. and I would like to leave, or just get a different comp. but I learned that JB has a calling in this branch, so he's not going to leave here. but I don't think I'll be able to stand him one more transfer. He's really nosy and always stands real close to me whenever we go anywhere. I made "Don't stand so close to me" by the Police his song. haha Like especially when it's windy and cold, he stands on the other side of me, so I block the wind, but he's still too close. idk,, just lots of things he does that bugs me. especially that he's not too good at English and can't talk right. and he forgets things all the time. or like when we plan for the next day, he says so and so is at 6, but the next day, it's at 5 or some other time.... guh!!! or he can't remember which way is left or right. I know where to go, but he still says left and points right.

And he uses the right words, jut not in the right order. Like when he asks where something is, instead of "where is it" he says "where it is". But I guess that's just Creole grammar. I'm trying to teach him which tense to use. cuz learning English is hard. and he's only been here for 8 months, and that's when he started learning the language. Especially the way he pronounces words, like adds "h"s to words that don't need them, or takes away the "h". and he says Smit for Joseph Smith, and earf for earth. I don't get why he can't just put the "h " at the end of smith. Sometimes he can say "th" but rarely. He's like a little retarded kid learning to say his R's or W's or all that.. you know.

Oh we had lamb for dinner last night, it was good. and rice with milk and sugar, but the milk was weird. so I didn't really eat it. but I love the food here. with the Haitian and the American at random times during the week. and sometimes Hispanic.

Oh have I told you how much I love Plantains? oh man they are so good! they can be prepared like 4 or 3 different ways, depending on the color it is. if it's green you can squish it, and it's good, if its yellow you can squish it and it's good. or if it's really yellow and black, it's sweet and good if it's squished. like you have to fry it a little, squish it, then fry it again. and it's amazing. or put it in bouijon or soup. it sounds like that beef bouijon stuff, that's how you pronounce the b word. it means soup. in creole. I found some plantain chips, like potato chips, but not.. ok so it looks like a banana but tastes like a potato. and the sweet plantains taste more like bananas, but not exactly.

To Dad,

no, i want the singing, that's the second best part! i would like 3 cds. i like that one with the little kid singing, it's cool. and we even had an enya cd last transfer with like ALL her songs, including may it be.
oh man that looks like a cool time, good thing nothing really happened, just rolled down a hill. that'll be fun towing that out. there's no hills here like that. i wish there was. i found a hill the other day, it could have been the highest point on the island, but i looked that up, the real highest point is like 400 feet. the one i saw may have been 100 ft. it was so high! haha
it made west mountain look like a real mountain.
chan is still a funny kid. that's good.

as always, i didn't care to watch the superbowl, but this morning some guys from the zone went to iHop for breakfast and they talked about it a bit. i knew about the brothers being coaches, that would be fun. and the sisters in my district just wanted to watch the commercials. one elder told us about an axe commercial about some girl being attacked by sharks and a guy goes and saves her, but there's a guy in an astronaught suit, and he gets the girl, cuz apparently, nothing beats an astronaught.

oh i just read his story, chans. it sounds fun. like that's a cliff in ND. ahah. cliffs don't exist here. as far as i know, i've been to a few beaches and the land just slopes into the ocean. the only "cliff" would be at montauk, but that's man made. and it's still sloping. i guess cliffs don't have to be straight down.
that's cool that ty is getting married, how long has he been back? he didnt' wait too long it seems, that's good. i'm glad to get another cousin. cousin in law? i never thought of that.
i showed the picture to my sisters here and they both love the idea.
i was gonna send you the link to teefury.com for a few days ago the shirt was a funny star trek thing. it was about enlisting to be a red shirt. "it only hurts for a second" haha

i know i used to have all of them LotR cds, but idk where they went over the years..
