August 29, 2012

today is p-day. i'm in the laundromat warshing my clothes. we have like 30 minutes once we log on. but it takes 35 to wash.
did you get my second letter? wow these keyboards suck. haha the guy across from me was just messin with my mouse..  anyway i went to the temple today, initiatories , and the food is good.
i totally love my district,. we laugh so much and some people are more funny than others. i saw geoff a few times. i'm gonna sit around and see if i can see emily today.  uhhmm.  i did get a pic of me smelling the tree. i'll take more then send it. i only have like two pics on there. we had Anthony D Perkins talk last night, wasn't too exiting.. uh, my comp is super funny. they say i'm funny too. just stuff i do/say. i can't remember some questions you guys asked.. oh if we say "guys" we have to do 10 push-ups. i've done one set so far, my comp has done 7 and another- merrill, has like 17, haha.  you should send a list of questions that i can answer easily.  but i guess i could look at the email as i write back. instead of compose a whole new one.
oh ya, my zone is cool, but my district is better.  sweet, there's a sister on the table from australia, sounds cool.  well. i've forgotten everything i was gonna say.  i'm gonna write some more today, i have pretty much all day to myself. then class later tonight.
it's cool here. but i can't wait to get to new york.
oh ya, out of 12 in the district, only 3 going to ny, the rest are going to dallas. kinda sucks cuz we all want to stay together.

Oh that Peterson kid is not in my district (this is an elder from Springville going to the same mission), and idk about my zone. we don't mingle often. or at all. oh ya the tree! haha it smells good. haha

There is so much time today, but because it's the mtc, it's not ALL day that we have nothing to do, just most of the day. We had breakfast in the temple. I had waffles with blueberry topping and whipped cream and peanut butter and maple and boysenberry syrup on it. aha and an apple turnover, it was great. and my comp and everyone else had the buscuits and gravy. It looked good and Elder Izatt couldn't stop saying how good they were. Then we were wandering around here and skipped lunch - we have a ton of food back "home", like he (Izatt) got two (count them, 2) loaves of banana bread, and we already had one from another elder's package. and i got a handful of Andies and mint patties. We get a 4% discount in the book store, but things are still really expensive. Like this really cool marker crayon pen everyone is buying, but i won't be assimilated. plus I lost 20 bucks to that stupid flu shot... :(

Thank you so much for those peanut butter bars, (or thanks to mom, idk) but they are amazing and smell amazing. and i can't eat them in class, cuz we got the newest class buildings, They are nice ... Geoff said that the english speakers get the good rooms and his room is like a third world country, ahaha.. uhmm... the gym is cool. There's one in 2M and 19M, but 2M is way better, it's got rowers, and more bikes, and weights and such.. but the other place has the courts for b-ball and v-ball and the track, and four square.. and outside is where the sand pit is, and we roll around in it, making castles and what not... no i wish. we just played volley ball the other night, it was awesome. but an elder in our group busted his foot the second day playing b-ball so he's crippled and has to just sit there all day. it sucks, we're all sad for him.

I totally believe that these companionships are of God. we are perfect for each other.. Elder izatt is a fast-paced guy and needs to learn patience, and i'm slow and need to learn diligence.  Sometimes he gets into these "spiritual rants" i call them, where he just goes on and on about something that we can all learn from.
i was just thinking i should just write everyone back in one email so i don't repeat myself,  but you guys can sort these ones out.

Oh um.. we're thinking that the orange juice does NOTHING! i've drank it, and i guess it might do something, but it's not explosive or anything. i guess brian just had too much... and i think it efffects different people different ways. The chocolate milk is awesome... and oh the other day I had shepherds pie with corn bread for dinner. it was SO DANG GOOD!! i ate that so fast, i was done by the time everyone else sat down. (we normally eat as a room, and with our district- but one companionship usually doesn't join- or can't find us)

Also whats good...---- the learning! the atmosphere, the spirit, the people, most teachers- we had two great ones, but one moved to israel, and the other is teaching in another room. and i don't like the new one... he sounds exactly like matt stewart, and i don't like that kid..

We have so much fun here. i'll be sad to leave my district.

I just found out how to send the same email to multiples, cuz my comp asked how. so i fugured it out. i'm smart like that. see ya next week. well i can write anytime i can find time, but I can only email once a week, as usual.
oh ya and i'm sure you figured this out, but repost at your own discretion. (is that the right word?)

E-mail to Mom

I sent dad a big email, so i'll just go to everyone if i have time, well he sent me two already. and i said i have 30 minutes, i really didn't then, but now i do. it's dumb. i could log in some other way and have unlimited time.
i went out to greet Emily, but i never saw her. bummer.. but it's okay, i'm here for 2 more weeks, and i've seen geoff thrice so far, so it's a possibilty i'll see her eventually. plus there's not that many sisters here.

Also, they have micro sd card readers in the dungeons (laundry room) so i might send some that way, but i'd rather send the whole full thing. but i haven't taken that much.. THERE'S NO TIME!!! seriously, we have to study study study all day long, and we couldn't take cameras to the temple this morning, and i missed sunday's temple walk. oh well. we have a few more chances.
we took group shots of the.. group.. and i didn't have my camera, so ya..
oh in the temple we did initiatories and i had 4 french names. one francois, and also two brothers who were born in 1800. well one was in 1803. but still!
oh and president wants us to have a family picture to show him. i know i didn't want any, but now i know it's not for me, but others.
i sent brian a letter. it was just this: jeremiah 4:19-20 it's so awesome - it explains mtc food so well. Haha

First letter from the MTC

August 23, 2012

Dear Family,

I love it here. I am SO GLAD I came. The spirit is so strong here. It's like a sonic charge from Star Wars when Jango and Boba were trying to kill … Qui-Gon? (editors note: Obi-Wan) Anyway – it's powerful.

I worked out today, ran the track and did some pedaling. After I took my second shower today.
I have a full room. Six people, 3 comps. They're all cool, all 19 years old, but I'm okay. Last night I barely slept. My companion's name is Elder Kellon Izatt. He's cool, chill. We both went to CTR Clothing. We have the same shoes. I'll write later. I gotta go to class – personal study.

OK, now hours later – I had sweet 'n sour rice and German chocolate cake for din din. Oh! That kid from Riverside – Boiler- or something – who went on splits w/Brian, he found me (somehow) and told me he knew my brother – it was cool.

So, a few minutes ago there were some loud fireworks going off and two elders were acting out a slow-mo war, with grenades and rpg's and it was humorous.

Oh, so yesterday night we took off and went over and found some Marshmallow Mateys in a small plastic container and a handkerchief with names on it. We as in Elder Izatt and I. The showers remind me of ELF. They're too short and I have to squat to get my pits.

There's so stinkin' much to take in. I WANT FOOD! Probably dried fruit if possible, apples – bananas, whatever else. And – Aunt Tracy sent me a Dear Elder.

I bought two bottles of water for $1.20, so I have $4.80? on my ID card. Next Wed. is my P-day, laundry, e-mail. Let's see – I get Elders Holt, Drurey, Roush, Mousley, Izatt and Peck (me) in the room. I didn't spell some right, bet ya. The bed is small, well all beds are small for me. I'm the junior comp. for 1.5 weeks. Elder Holt is from Spanish Fork. Most people in my district are from Utah, a few from other places: Vegas, Colorado, Wyoming, Cali. Elder Chavez, he's from Riverside. It's quiet time now. I should write in my journal.

Oh, 538 new missionaries today . . . I mean yesterday. Talk to you later.

Elder Peck

PS There's a tree here that smells like a creamsicle or cream soda (I've heard both). A TREE!
